Bill Stewart, Executive Director

Bill Stewart has provided economic development services in the public, private and non-profit sectors for more than 20 years.  A former newspaper editor and publisher, he has been the executive director of three economic development organizations, was a business development specialist for Avista Corp., and twice served with the State of Washington's economic development efforts, first as Director of Team Washington during the Gardner Administration, and most recently as senior managing director.  During his economic development career he also purchased, operated, developed and sold three retail businesses.

Kathy S. Cocus: Director of Business Development

Kathy served as the KEDA Business Recruitment and Retention Manager from October of 2001 through June of 2006 when she became Interim Executive Director. She previously taught vocational education, guided the Greater Poulsbo Chamber of Commerce as its Executive Director for a decade, and came to the KEDA from her position as Director of Development for the Kitsap Humane Society.  She has additional background in retail sales, as well as in the marketing of Kitsap County as a past board member of the Kitsap Peninsula Visitor and Convention Bureau.

Becky Newton: Manager of Research & Communications

Prior to joining us in 2004, Becky worked for 15 years in the advertising and marketing field as administrative and production coordinator, followed by three years as researcher for an investment management consulting firm. Becky leads research and communication activities to facilitate the retention, expansion or recruitment of businesses on the Kitsap Peninsula.
