kmhs opens north kitsap office

January 17, 2007 - Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) has opened new offices in Poulsbo to better serve those needing mental health and behavioral health services in North Kitsap. The new offices, located in the Community Recreation Center at 19540 Front Street, are open Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. The staff of four clinicians will accommodate an anticipated 200 clients for intake, assessment, brief and longer-term treatment, and limited medical services. Other services, such as inpatient and emergency care, will continue to be provided from the Bremerton location at 5455 Almira Drive.

“The establishment of the North Kitsap Office is the achievement of a goal that we have been working toward for some time,” says KMHS Executive Director, Larry Keller. “We appreciate the hardship that our clients have experienced in just getting to their appointments. This new location makes mental health care more accessible for folks in the north end of the county.”

For services at the North Kitsap Office, call 360/405-4010. The general office number is 360/598-9740.  KMHS will host an Open House at the new office in March.

Kitsap Mental Health Services is the primary provider of mental health services for Kitsap County, offering a continuum of care to children, adults and older adults, and their families. Access to most KMHS services is dependent on Medicaid eligibility or eligibility for other state funding. Emergency services are available to all regardless of income.
