Canadian nonprofit, Profile Composites North America, soon will open a manufacturing operation employing a handful of veterans to make lightweight composite crutches.
Working with Olympic College and others, Profile Composites North America will draw from a dozen people, most of them veterans seeking to enter the civilian workforce, to work at its operation at 410 Ida St. W, in the industrial area near Werner Road.
By December, those workers will be the first to have completed two quarters of instruction at OC for a new certificate in composites manufacturing.
