With its 49 newspaper titles, Sound Publishing is the largest community media organization in Washington State. Sound has a combined print circulation of 661,072 and 2.3 million unique visitors online. Sound employs more than 600 people in 36 locations around the Puget Sound region, eastern Washington and Alaska.Sound prints all of its own newspapers and numerous other publications at our centrally located, state-of-the-art printing facility in Everett. The plant, located just northwest of the I-5/I-405 interchange, features two press lines and complete prepress, publication handling, bindery, mailing and transportation services, enabling us to meet the needs and demands of partner publishers across the state. Our largest press line is specifically designed to facilitate full-color printing on up to 40 tabloid pages in one section. It has auto registration and an auto pre-inking system that gives us built-in systems to assure consistent quality from start to finish.Sound Publishing is a subsidiary of Black Press Ltd. of Victoria, B.C., Canada. Founded in 1975, Black Press now publishes more than 160 newspapers and other publications in British Columbia, Alberta and Washington state, as well as the Honolulu (Hawaii) Star-Advertiser, West Hawaii Today, Hawaii Tribune-Herald, San Francisco Examiner daily newspapers, SF (San Francisco) Weekly and The Juneau Empire, Kenai Peninsula Clarion and Homer News. It is administered and majority owned by David Holmes Black of Victoria, B.C.
