In 2008, as part of its ongoing economic development initiative, the Suquamish Tribe established PME Construction Corporation (PMECC). PMECC’s stated purposes include generating revenue for the Tribal government, facilitating the development of Suquamish community resources, and increasing economic opportunities for Suquamish Tribal members. In accordance with those purposes, the Tribe chartered it as a governmental corporation, subsidiary of, and wholly owned by, Port Madison Enterprises, which is the governmental agency of the Tribe responsible for economic development. A Board of Directors appointed by, and subject to the ultimate control of, the Suquamish Tribal Council manages PMECC’s operations. Finally, all of PMECC’s net proceeds go to the Suquamish Tribal government, where they help to fund essential governmental services such as health care, child care, elder services, education, continued economic development, and more.VisionPMECC will continue expanding its role as a leader in the construction industry by building relationships with our customers and employees based on a culture of safety first, quality performance, trust and confidence, with continued focus, commitment, and value in support of economic development, employment opportunity and cultural integrity of the Suquamish Indian Tribe and its members.
