News Release: Kitsap 2022 Top Employers Survey Results
21 Aug 2023
Workforce, Economy, NEWS RELEASE
The Kitsap Economic Development Alliance (KEDA) has again partnered with the Center for Economic and Business Research at Western Washington University to produce the seventh annual Kitsap Top Employers List. This primary research product is the most frequently accessed report on KEDA’s website. This data is utilized by public and private partners, potential real estate investors and companies considering expansion or relocation for inclusion in market analysis, industry cluster analysis, competitive analysis, and workforce analysis. Employment counts reflect total employee headcounts as of December 31, 2022.
This year, the Top Employers list for Kitsap returned to its original form of data collection: surveying. While the list is slightly shorter, employee counts are “primary data” or actual recorded counts from local businesses, rather than secondary data from large, aggregated data sources, which have become less reliable post covid.
Not all companies contacted agree to have their employment numbers published. If an omission is believed to have occurred, or you would like to add your data, please contact the Center for Economic and Business Research at Western Washington University by phone at 360 -650-3909 or by e-mail at cebr@wwu.edu.
Key Insights:
- Of our top 10 employers, 7 are public
- The top 50 employers are split almost evenly between public and private entities
- Over half of the Top Employers have increased their workforce
