Kitsap Transit hosts open house on SR 16 Park & Ride Project

Based on needs and growth projections for the Port Orchard–South Kitsap County area, Kitsap Transit proposes building a new park & ride facility with room for transit-oriented development.

This modern, environmentally friendly and reliable transit hub for Port Orchard is now in the design phase following an extensive alternatives analysis and public outreach process. We are preparing for the next steps of the project by: 

• Gathering community input 
• Refining Park & Ride design and layout
• Applying for permits and fulfilling state Environmental Policy Act requirements
• Conducting field work, traffic impact and noise studies
• Identifying architectural elements
• Pursuing construction funding

Starting at 5:30 PM, a Kitsap Transit bus will be available to transport passengers who road the bus to the open house.
