Amber Caldera was elected the new chairwoman of the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe, replacing the late Jeromy Sullivan, in a special election on Tuesday.
Former PGST Chairman Jeromy Sullivan passed away in June at age 50 after leading the community as chair for more than a decade.
Over 330 enrolled tribal members voted in Tuesday's election, the most in any PGST election in the tribe's history, according to a statement from the tribe announcing the election results.
