KEDA’s Washington Autonomous Vehicle Cluster (WAV-C) recently hosted WAV-C Connect: Exploring the Future of Marine Autonomy in Defense, in Bremerton, bringing together 80 industry, defense, and education professionals. This milestone event united top innovators and experts to address the challenges and opportunities shaping the future of autonomous systems, fostering meaningful engagement among speakers, panelists, and attendees.

Throughout the conference, speakers and panelists explored critical challenges, emerging technologies, workforce development, and the integration of autonomous systems into national security strategies. The collaborative workforce development workshop led by, emerged as a cornerstone of the event, with participants from diverse industry sectors identifying essential skillsets and knowledge areas needed to strengthen the marine autonomy industrial base. This session underscored the critical importance of talent development and cross-sector collaboration in addressing the industry's evolving demands.

The keynote address was presented by LCDR Patrick Rawlinson, Undersea Warfare Systems Officer, Defense Innovation Unit , emphasized the urgent need for cross-sector collaboration to accelerate innovation.
