Racism a public health crisis: Learn about Kitsap Public Health’s resolution at Kingston meeting Sept. 8

Learn more about the Kitsap Public Health District’s resolution declaring racism a public health crisis at the next meeting of the Kingston Citizens Advisory Council, which takes place virtually from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 8. 

Jessica Guidry, Kitsap Public Health’s new equity program manager, will discuss the resolution, passed by the Health Board May 4, 2021, and how it supports equity and will lead to specific, meaningful actions to address institutionalized and systemic racism.

The KCAC meeting will also include other discussion about an affordable housing sales tax; improvements to the parking area at the entryway to the North Kitsap Heritage Park off Norman Road; and consideration of a Kingston Welcoming Resolution.
