The Washington State Electric Vehicle Charging Program will offer $64 million to install Level 2 and DC fast chargers throughout the state, with a goal of directing 40% of program funding for installations in overburdened and vulnerable communities.
Applications for the program are open now through Dec.1, 2023. 

Two webinars will be offered to provide information about the application process, learn about the site scoring criteria, and answer any questions about the program.
The first webinar is this Wednesday, Sept.13 from 1:30 - 3 p.m.

About the program

Eligible EV charging project types are installing Level 2 stations for:

  • Multi-family residential charging
  •  Publicly-available charging in underserved communities
  • Fleet depot and workplace charging

Installing DC Fast Charging stations for:

  • Publicly-available charging in underserved communities 

Applications are due Dec. 1, 2023
 

Eligible lead applicants:

  • Electric utilities
  • Public agencies
  • Federally recognized Tribal governments, their members, and enterprises owned by Tribes and located off Tribal lands
  • Non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations

Lead applicants are encouraged to partner with each other and the private sector, including charging companies or site hosts. 


Funding cycles:


The first of two funding cycles will be offered in 2023-2025. An additional $64 million is expected in 2024-2025. 

$64 million is available in this round:

  • Level 2: $7,500 per plug
  • DCFC: $85,000 per plug 

Project period

Recipients should expect to complete Level 2 projects within 270 days, and DCFC projects within 580 days.
