The Washington State Department of Commerce recently announced the 2024 Evergreen Manufacturing Growth Grants in support of manufacturing growth in Washington State. This grant program aims to foster an environment of innovation and entrepreneurship, supporting the development of manufacturing jobs, research, and regional cluster acceleration strategies. Initial applications for this for this competitive grant are due to KEDA by 4:59pm, December 21st, 2023.

Program Highlights:

Total Funds: $2 million
Eligibility: Individual businesses and innovation cluster organizations
Award Range: $200,000 to $400,000 per applicant
Number of Grants: Up to 10 awards

Who Can Apply:

Businesses: Operational in Washington State for the past three years, generating revenue, employing at least 3 full-time employees, and plan to spend the entire award in Washington State.
Clusters: Aligned with Commerce's approved definition, driving industry-led innovation, and collaborative growth

What We Support:

Research and development projects
Pilot or demonstration manufacturing projects
Strategic assistance related to customer bases, supply chain, and more
Workforce development initiatives

Key Criteria for Evaluation:

Alignment with Washington's key economic sectors
Direct employment generation potential
Technological advances and workforce development support

Important Dates:

Final application submission deadline: 4:59pm, December 21st, 2023
Utilization of all awarded funds by: June 30, 2025

Application Process:

One application per business/cluster
Preference to high-unemployment and rural regions
Partnerships and joint applications encouraged
