Senator Murray’s Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) and programmatic request portals are now open

CDS funds are for public and not-for-profit entities.

Senator Murray’s Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25) Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) and programmatic request portals are now open. 

 There are distinct portals for CDS and programmatic requests – If you are unfamiliar with CDS funds, here is a list of projects Senator Murray advanced in FY24. 

Please see the following information from Daniel Pailthorp, Thurston County and Olympic Peninsula Director, Office of U.S. Senator Patty Murray:

• CDS funds are for public and not-for-profit entities.  Senator Murray's office requires that applicants submit at least two letters of support from third parties within the community (or communities) that would benefit from the project if funded. Please submit all letters in PDF format via email to appropriations@murray.senate.gov, please CC  Daniel_Pailthorp@murray.senate.gov.
• It is not required, but highly recommended to reach out to me about the details of your project. He is available for site visits, in-person meetings, or calls regarding your project(s). He can be reached at 360-358-0318 .
• If your project falls outside of Thurston, Mason, Grays Harbor, Kitsap, Clallam, and Jefferson counties: If you project spans other counties or is in other area of the state, please reach out to Daniel and he will connect you with a different staff person if that is the best contact. 
• If you are unsure about which path to apply to or are choosing between multiple accounts, you may also reach out to Daniel to discuss. 
• The PDF application is attached, the high number of pages is due to it being a branching google form, the main application questions, numbers 38-44, start on page 21. 
• Can you apply for more than 1 CDS? Yes – You’re welcome to apply for more than one CDS. 
• Can you apply with other congressional offices? Yes – You’re welcome to apply with other Congressional offices, please contact them for the information for their process. Please do not assume that their deadline is the same as ours. 
• Can you apply early? Yes, you’re encouraged to apply early.

Senator Murray's CDS Deadline is 11:59pm PST on Monday, April 8. All requests must be submitted via the webform that can be found at the following link: https://forms.office.com/g/BTyLQKqWnq. The webform’s content is identical to the content contained in the attached PDF.  The office encourages you to submit your request as early as possible. All requests must be submitted via the webform by the above deadline in order to receive consideration for Senator Murray’s FY25 CDS requests. 
 
Programmatic Request Submission Deadline is 11:59 pm PST on Monday, April 1. All requests must be submitted via the webform that can be found at the following link: https://forms.office.com/g/yv9f9FZGKc. The webform’s content is identical to the content contained in the attached PDF. Notably, there is a single form for both Defense and Non-Defense requests. You are not required to answer elements of the form that are not relevant to your request.
