Bremerton’s Olympic College is collaborating with Kitsap Transit on a new electrical-theory course: “Electrical Theory: Direct Current Basics.”
The 10-week program will give students a foundational understanding of direct-current electricity — a baseline area of expertise for those looking to pursue careers related to electric-vehicle technology, a release said.
"This partnership with Kitsap Transit provides crucial training for in-demand jobs in our community," said Wendy Fox, interim dean of workforce and economic development at Olympic College, in the release.
Priced at $750, the course will start on April 10 and be hosted at the Kitsap Transit facility. The latter organization said that “Electrical Theory” will prepare students not just for related local opportunities, but also at Kitsap Transit itself.
"Our commitment to excellent service requires quality training," said Dennis Griffey, Kitsap Transit’s maintenance director, in the release. "Kitsap Transit’s partnership with Olympic College gives our employees world-class instruction."
