RFP Announcement: Economic Impact Study for Belfair Sewer System & Puget Sound Industrial Center South

Kitsap's southern neighbor, Mason County and the Economic Development Council of Mason County, in partnership with KEDA, has released a Request for Proposals for an Economic Impact Study of the Belfair Sewer System and Puget Sound Industrial Center South.

The Mason County Economic Development Council (MasonEDC), in partnership with the Kitsap Economic Development Alliance (KEDA), is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to conduct an Economic Impact Study of the Belfair Sewer System and the southern portion of the Puget Sound Industrial Center (PSIC South) in Bremerton, Washington.

Belfair and PSIC South are at the center of exciting regional economic opportunities:

Belfair, an unincorporated community in Mason County, supports a diverse small business sector that serves residents, tourists, and commuters.

PSIC South, located in Bremerton, is a regional hub for manufacturing and industry, with expanding infrastructure and workforce needs.

The sewer system connecting these two areas represents a critical infrastructure investment with the potential to: 

• Expand business and industrial capacity
• Support small business growth and retention
• Enable new development opportunities
• Protect environmental quality and public health

This study will evaluate both the current and future contributions of the sewer system, with a special emphasis on impacts to small businesses in Belfair and industrial expansion in PSIC South.
