Puget Sound Naval Shipyard’s proposed multi-mission dry dock project in Bremerton is moving forward with planning that could also support environmental restoration in Sinclair Inlet. As part of required mitigation for construction and dredging, the U.S. Navy is exploring shoreline wetland restoration projects around the inlet.

The new dry dock is part of the Navy’s long-term effort to modernize aging shipyard infrastructure and ensure the facility can maintain modern aircraft carriers and submarines for decades to come. For Kitsap County, the investment represents a major federal infrastructure project that supports the shipyard’s critical role in the region’s economy and national defense.
