New Role to Drive Workforce Development and Economic Initiatives 


The Kitsap Economic Development Alliance (KEDA) is pleased to announce the addition of Elizabeth Court as its new Economic Development Principal. This newly created position, made possible by KEDA’s One Kitsap initiative, will focus on workforce development and other key economic strategies to support Kitsap’s economic vitality.

Elizabeth brings a wealth of experience spanning federal, state, and local government, the private sector, and higher education. Her expertise includes economic analysis, workforce development, program and project management, and land use planning.
“Kitsap is incredibly fortunate to have Elizabeth in this role,” said Joe Morrison, KEDA’s Executive Director. “She is, quite simply, remarkable. I have no doubt she will not only lead the workforce aspects of our economic development portfolio with excellence but will also make significant contributions across a broad range of economic initiatives in the years to come.”
 

Elizabeth’s previous roles include:

  • Assistant Director of Educational Outreach at the University of Washington
  • Director of Workforce Development for the Olympic Workforce Development Area
  • Economic Analyst for the Washington State Employment Security Department
  • Experience in trade and transportation within the private sector
     

A veteran of the United States Coast Guard and Reserve, Elizabeth holds an MBA from Seattle University, along with a Master’s in Marine Affairs and a PhD in Forest Resources from the University of Washington. She also holds the AICP credential from the American Planning Association, underscoring her expertise in economic and land use planning.
